Police Investigate 2 Anne Arundel Homicides

UPDATE: Police have released more information.  From the Glen Burnie stabbing:

The victim in this case is identified as James Anthony Liberto of Glen Burnie. The victim suffered a stab wound to the torso after getting into a fight with the suspect. The fight occurred near the McDonald’s at Cromwell Field Shopping Center. Suspect information is as follows:

Roland Michael Long, age 39, of 514 Crain Highway, in Glen Burnie. He was charged with 2nd Degree Murder. A mugshot of the suspect is not yet available.

UPDATE: Police have released more information.  From the Severn stabbing:

The victim in this case is identified as Ghulam Farooq of Chesterton Road in Baltimore. Mr. Farooq was making a food delivery to the area and detectives believe he was the victim of a robbery and assault. The trauma he suffered was an apparent stab wound. Detectives are still seeking information about this incident.

Anne Arundel County Police had their hands full overnight with two homicides.

On December 18, 2010, at 6:40 p.m. officers were dispatched a fight in the parking lot of the McDonalds in the Cromwell Field Shopping Center at 7379 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard, in Glen Burnie. Two men had been fighting and one was apparently stabbed. The suspect was immediately detained and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene to treat the victim. The 43 year old victim was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he later died. The suspect remains in custody and homicide detectives are continuing the investigation. No further information is being released at this time pending victim family notification and charges against the suspect.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Regina Gow at 410-222-3417.

Shortly after the Glen Burnie stabbing, police were dispatched at 7:15 p.m. for a sick or injured subject. Police responded to the 1800 block of Meade Village Circle, in Severn, and discovered a 46 year old man lying in the roadway suffering from some form of physical trauma. The man was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he later died. This is an active homicide investigation and no further information is being released by the police at this time.
