1 Injured In Glen Burnie Bus-Car Crash. Anne Arundel County police said one person was injured after a school bus collided with another vehicle in Glen Burnie. The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. Monday along Furnace Branch Road East and Margate Drive.County fire officials said there were no children on the bus at the time of the crash.Fire officials said the driver of the school bus refused medical treatment at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Shock Trauma with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Preakness In Jeopardy. The Maryland Racing Commission on Monday rejected the Maryland Jockey Club’s proposal to significantly reduce live racing in Maryland, which could put the 2011 Preakness in jeopardy.The racing commission unanimously rejected allowing Penn National Gaming to obtain a 49 percent interest in the Jockey Club, and doing so resulted in no live racing dates being set for next year.

Ravens To Create Purple Out For Sunday’s Game. Prior to this Sunday’s Ravens-Steelers game, the Baltimore Ravens and Verizon Wireless will provide over 71,000 fans with purple rally towels as they enter the gates of M&T Bank Stadium.The Ravens are encouraging fans to wear all purple and wave their towel for the nationally-televised NBC Sunday Night Football broadcast, which you can see right here on WBAL-TV 11.“Verizon Wireless joins Baltimore Ravens fans with this great show of team support, and we encourage all to display these towels to cheer our team on during Sunday’s game,” said Mike Maiorana, regional president of Verizon Wireless.

Black Friday Sales Better Than Expected. The National Retail Federation said more shoppers visited stores and websites over Black Friday weekend and spent more money than they did a year ago.The average shopper this weekend spent $365, according to the group, and it looks like Maryland retailers followed that national trend.General Growth Properties owns six malls throughout the state, and they all reported a great Black Friday.
