20,000 Gallons Of Fuel On Fire In Gambrills

Anne Arundel County fire crews have been on the scene of a stubborn fire at the BGE Substation at 1155 Waugh Chapel Road.  When the first alarm was sounded (435pm), arriving engines reported heavy smoke from a transformer.

At 5:39pm, the Battalion Chief advised there was still active fire and called for several more tanker trucks to assist.

At 7:19pm a full second alarm was called and crews are now reporting that there are 20,000 gallons of fuel involved.  This substation was the scene of a stubborn 3 alarm fire on June 22, 2010.
