School Bus Accident Westbound Rt 50

UPDATE: 10:24am: Per Anne Arundel County Public Schools all five students on the bus have been released from the hospital.

UPDATE: 10:03am: All lanes are once again re-opened.

UPDATE: 951am. The Anne Arundel County Public Schools has confirmed that it was indeed a bus from Central Special School carrying 5 students. There were no apparent injuries to any student, but they were all transported as a precaution. Existence or extent of other injuries are still unknown.  Currently one additional Westbound lane has been open according to the SHA.

We have received a preliminary report that three vehicles on Westbound Route 50 have been involved in an accident this morning shortly before 8:45am. One of the vehicles is a school bus; but it is unknown if it is an Anne Arundel County bus or not. The accident is at Route 50 West and MD 450 West.

Currently 3 of the 4 Westbound lanes are closed as well as the westbound shoulder.
