Illustrator Of Popular Children’s Book “Corduroy’s Halloween” To Appear At Annapolis Pumpkin Patch

Lisa McCue, the illustrator of the popular children’s book, “Corduroy’s Halloween,” will be signing her popular book from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 24th at the Pumpkin Patch held at St. Martin’s church. A resident of Annapolis, McCue is a supporter of the Pumpkin Patch and has been donating her art to the event for years.

The Pumpkin Patch benefits the Light House, a homeless prevention and support center.  The Pumpkin Patch will be held October 9-31 at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.  Attracting hundreds of local families and school groups, the nearly month-long event features pumpkins, live entertainment, crafts and activities, baked goods, local handicrafts and more.

On October 24th, McCue will be in attendance to sign books and talk to families. “Corduroy’s Halloween” and “Corduroy’s Trick-or-Treat” books will be available for purchase while supplies last. Additionally, local band Bridgette and the Band will provide live entertainment that day 1-3 p.m.

This year is the 9th year for the Annapolis tradition, and the event will have more activities and entertainment than ever before.  Each weekend, the Pumpkin Patch will feature live entertainment from a variety of area musicians, including youth bands and rock, jazz and funk bands.  Bands include: Situation, Drive by Confession, Swag Funk, Chesapeake Pickers, Charlie O’Brien, Indecision, Dead Whale Ramblers, and Harmonica Blu Express.

Additionally, the event will feature tempting refreshments, children’s crafts and games, face painting, fun fall merchandise and local handicrafts.

Admission and entertainment are free, and pumpkins are priced according to size. Donations from our Pumpkin Patch sponsors allow 100% of profits to go directly to serving the Light House residents.
