Ravens Spoil Jets Home Opener With 10-9 Win. The Baltimore Ravens spoiled the New York Jets’ opener in their new home with a 10-9 victory. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin, Baltimore’s key offseason acquisition, toyed with New York’s vaunted secondary for 110 yards on seven catches Monday night. The Ravens’ defense outplayed its more ballyhooed rival by allowing only 176 yards and nearly blanking the Jets on third downs; New York was 1 for 11 in that department. The $1.6 billion New Meadowlands Stadium occasionally rocked with chants of J-E-T-S, but the Ravens silenced them and curbed the enthusiasm created by several additions to New York’s roster, plus the team’s no-holds-barred preseason TV series.
