Police: Hopkins Hospital Shooter Killed Self, Mother.  A 50-year-old man who Baltimore City police said shot a Johns Hopkins Hospital doctor Thursday morning turned his semiautomatic gun on himself and his mother a few hours later.The shooter was tentatively identified Thursday afternoon as Warren Davis, but officials later identified him as Paul Warren Pardus, of Arlington, Va. Police said Pardus apparently used an alias, because the hospital knew him as Warren Davis. Police said Pardus had a minor criminal record. The 11 News I-Team discovered that he had at least three aliases and filed for bankruptcy years ago.

Woman Killed In Hanover Car Crash.  Maryland State police said a woman was killed Wednesday night in a two-car crash in Hanover.It happened at about 8:35 p.m. on Route 295. The driver of a sedan lost control of her vehicle, which crossed the median and struck another car.The driver of the second car, 46-year-old Stacey Mechell Altvater of Landsdowne, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.The driver of the sedan, 52-year-old Francois Verleysen of Ellicott City, was also taken to Shock Trauma.

MD Voter Turnout Lowest On Record. Despite six days of early voting opportunities, voter turnout in Maryland’s primary appears to have been the lowest on record. The Maryland State Board of Elections on Thursday reported unofficial polling place turnout to be about 24 percent. The board said turnout was 21.6 percent for the primary election. Only 2.4 percent of voters cast ballots in early voting, which took place in Maryland for the first time.The turnout numbers do not include provisional or absentee voters.

Deleted e-mail accounts don’t always go away forever, leaving personal information vulnerable to hijackers.Many people who cancel an e-mail account might assume their information is erased, but that’s not necessarily the case.Michael Sumy said he was startled to check his e-mail one day and find spam mail sent from himself via an old America Online account he thought he closed more than 10 years ago.
