Justin Bieber Assaults MD State Trooper.  It seems teen sensation Justin Bieber had a bit of a run-in with Maryland state troopers before his sold-out concert Sunday at the Maryland State Fair. A state police spokesperson said Bieber, while “horsing around with members of his staff,” threw water balloons at two troopers, the 11 News I-Team’s Jayne Miller reported.One of the balloons hit a trooper’s gun belt and burst, and the other brushed a trooper on the chest but didn’t burst, Miller reported.It happened outside a trailer Bieber was using before the concert.

Glen Burnie Man Dumpster Dives For $10K Lottery Ticket It took three messy attempts, but a Maryland Lottery player was able to retrieve a $10,000 winning ticket from a Dumpster before it was too late. Dennis Keatley scratched off a “Black Cherry Doubler” winner several months ago but said he waited to redeem it out of fear he would spend the winnings all at once.He said he put the ticket in a DVD case on a coffee table, but realized recently the case was gone.The Glen Burnie resident searched his apartment but couldn’t find the case, Lottery officials said.

Anne Arundel Police Probe Pasadena Barricade Situation. Anne Arundel County police diffused a barricade situation in Pasadena yesterday.Police were called to a home in the 3900 block of Alberta Avenue shortly after noon on Thursday to check on the well-being of a subject.It’s unclear how the situation developed into a standoff.Police sealed off the area around the home, and a tactical response team was able to get in touch with the man inside the home, authorities said.Police said the man was by himself. No one was been hurt.

Harris Touts Conservative Record. State Sen. Andrew Harris is touting his experience as a legislator in his second run for Maryland’s 1st Congressional District. It’s a very different primary for Harris this time. In 2008, Harris prevailed in a crowded five-way primary with experienced competition. He won handily, defeating nine-term incumbent Wayne Gilchrest. This time, he’s running against only one opponent in the primary, Rob Fisher, head of a cyber security company who is making his first run for public office.
