IUPAT To Donate $25,000 To Boys & Girls Clubs

This afternoon, the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) will officially mark the grand opening of its new international headquarters with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a reception.  Union leaders from the AFL-CIO and rank and file members from throughout the East Coast will be joined in the celebration by Governor Martin O’Malley and County Executive John Leopold, among other Maryland leaders.

The IUPAT will also present a $25,000 donation from its PATCH Foundation to the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.

The ceremony and reception will take place on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 4pm – 7pm at 7230 Parkway Drive, Hanover, Maryland.

The IUPAT broke ground on its new headquarters just over one year ago.  It has since been completed on schedule and under budget.  The completion of the headquarters makes the IUPAT campus complete in Hanover as it joins its training center (which opened in 2006) and new 36-room residence hall.

As the economy improves and services at its facilities require more manpower, the IUPAT expects to aggressively expand its campus workforce through new hires in the Maryland community.
