Giant To Offer Flu Shots

For more than twenty years, Giant Food of Landover, Md. has provided seasonal flu shots  as part of its Health & Wellness initiative in a continuing effort to best meet the needs of its customers during cough and cold season. This year, Giant will offer seasonal influenza immunizations in the pharmacy department beginning, Tuesday, September 7, and as long as quantities associated with this program are available.

“As part of our continued commitment to provide value to our customers, Giant Food is offering seasonal flu shots for $25 when customers use their Giant card,” said Dain Rusk, director of pharmacy operations for Giant Food of Landover, Md. “Our customers can help protect their families by getting vaccinated this fall at our convenient locations.”

This year’s vaccine protects against seasonal flu as well as the California strain, previously called H1N1. Seasonal flu shots will be administered in most Giant stores by certified and trained Giant pharmacists starting Tuesday, September 7 for $30. Customers who use their Giant card save $5 on the vaccination.

“We are pleased to have one more way to help our customers and improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve,” said Robin Michel, president of Giant Food of Landover, Md. “Giant is happy to provide access to this season’s flu shot in convenient locations throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware.”
