Suspicious Death Investigated in Anne ArundelAnne Arundel County police are investigating what detectives have classified as a suspicious death.A 47-year-old woman was found at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday in the unit block of Lexington Road in Harmans.Police said the woman’s son found her body and then contacted police.The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still determining the cause and manner of her death.Her name hasn’t been released.

MD Preserving Ship Remains For Research.  A little-known southern Maryland facility is leading an effort to preserve the remains of ship found at the construction site at ground zero last month.If you listen real hard just off the quiet banks of the Patuxent River in the tiny town of St. Leonard, you can hear a staff of about 20 people busy at work preserving the remains for research.In January, construction workers clearing an area at the former site of the World Trade Center in Manhattan found what they believed to be a very old ship. Such old ships and debris were used to expand the island in the early 19th century.

Boy, 14, Dies After Bike-Car Collision.  A 14-year-old in Queen Anne’s County had died after being hit by a car Sunday while riding his bike in Stevensville.The incident happened Sunday shortly before 9 p.m. along Thompson Creek Road in front of a Food Lion.Police said Tara Riley, 23, of Stevensville, was driving her car along Thompson Creek Road and missed the right turn into the Food Lion, instead slowing down and moving onto the shoulder so she could turn in at the next entrance.

Agility Test Pushes New Firefighter Candidates.  To become a Baltimore city firefighter, you need to be in the best physical condition possible, and a new agility test is weeding out the wannabe’s from the men and women who have what it takes.City firefighters have to battle flames under the toughest of conditions, so every new firefighter candidate must now take a new, more rigorous physical agility test that’s expected to stretch them to their limits.
