The Annapolis Police Department will conduct a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint on August 20, 2010 beginning at 10:00 p.m. The checkpoint will begin at the intersection of Rowe Boulevard and Taylor Avenue and then move to Rowe Boulevard and Melvin Avenue.

In 2004, the Annapolis Police Department began administering checkpoints. The APD uses grant funding provided by the State Highway Administration and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration to hold several checkpoints a year within Annapolis.

Officers will be looking for impaired motorists and provide informational pamphlets to those passing through the checkpoints.
