UPDATE: Annapolis Accident

On August 8, 2010, we reported about a serious accident in Annapolis at Hilltop Lane and Gemini Drive.  Oddly enough, none of the other area news outlets picked it up.

This afternoon, we followed up with Lt. John Bowes with the Annapolis Fire Department and got some more details.

911 Dispatch received a call at 00:03 for a Motor Vehicle Crash on Hilltop Lane near Gemini Drive in Annapolis.  The first arriving unit found that a car had hit a utility pole and went down an approx. 20 embankment landing on it’s roof.

1 patient was trapped in the vehicle. A rescue box was dispatched for extrication purposes.  There were 3 patients involved.

There were 3 separate helicopters called for each of the patients (all from the Maryland State Police). The patients were all flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious and potentially life threatening injuries.

One patient was a male estimated to be in his 20’s, one patient was an approx. 27 year old female, and the third patient was a female estimated to be in her 30’s.  The Annapolis Fire Dept. ran the call with mutual aid received from the Anne Arundel County Fire Dept.
