6 Injured In Eastern Shore Chase, Crash. Several people are injured after chase police said was spurred by a drunken driver.Officers said the driver in question, Armand Cornish, 19, of Cambridge, is facing numerous charges including attempt by driver to elude uniformed police by fleeing on foot, attempt by driver to elude uniformed police by failing to stop, failure to immediately return and remain at scene of accident involving bodily injury, person driving motor vehicle on highway on suspended license and privilege and person driving motor vehicle on highway on revoked license and privilege.

State Police: Boating Death Involved Alcohol.  Maryland State Police believe alcohol played a factor in the death of a man on board a boat in the Chesapeake Bay off the shore of Betterton.On Friday, the small craft Bayliner left for Kent Island from the Otter Creek Marina in Harford County, according to investigators. The two men had alcoholic beverages at the Red Eye Dock Bar and then attempted to head back to Harford County around 8:30 p.m. Investigators said probably shortly afterward the victim lost consciousness, while the other man, inexperienced at operating a boat, became lost.

MD Heat Related Deaths Rise To Six.  The number of people to die of heat-related causes this year in Maryland has reached six.That’s the same number of heat deaths as recorded for all of 2009. Virginia and the District of Columbia have already surpassed last year for heat-related deaths, with three recorded in Virginia and one in D.C.Meanwhile, a new heat wave is beginning in the Baltimore-Washington area. Officials are urging residents to be careful and drink lots of water during the coming days.

4th Of July Parades Celebrate Freedom, Liberty.

Hundreds of people lined the streets in red, white and blue at Dundalk’s annual Fourth of July parade. They were joined by men and women in uniform, home to spend the day with their families and remember why the day is celebrated.”The holiday is a holiday to commemorate why we’re all able to be here and the freedoms and liberties that we have and just to, you know, value those that have fought for out country and given their all,” noted Marine Pfc Nancy Bailey.
