Man Arrested In Brooklyn Park KillingAnne Arundel County police said they’ve arrested one of two people in the slaying of a man on July 1 in Brooklyn Park. Ricky Lamont Mason, 22, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder, armed robbery, assault and theft.Detectives said Mason was one of two men seen by witnesses fleeing after Ray Bucklew, 21, of Brooklyn Park, was killed in the 400 block of Audrey Avenue.Police said they found Bucklew shot to death inside a car.Mason is currently being held without bail.Police said they aren’t releasing the identity of the second man, who will be charged after they’ve apprehended him.

Latest Storms Bring More Outages To Area.  The Baltimore-Washington area, still recovering from thunderstorms on Sunday that left hundreds of thousands without power, was hit again by severe weather Thursday.Thunderstorms rolled through the region in the afternoon, bringing down trees and cutting power to thousands. The storms could be to blame for a two-alarm fire in Harford County.It started just before 3 p.m. in a townhome in the 600 block of Cider Press Loop in Joppa. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.Baltimore Gas & Electric said about 23,000 lost power in the most recent storms, but power was restored quickly to about 7,500.

2 250K Mega Millions Tickets Sold In MD, Laurel And Glen Burnie.  Two lucky Marylanders hold $250,000 Mega Millions tickets in the wake of Tuesday night’s drawing.Winning tickets were sold at 7-Eleven on Baltimore Avenue in Laurel and at Greentree Exxon on Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. Maryland Lottery officials said there have been 17 “second-tier” Mega Millions winners in the state in 2010. There have been 90 “third-tier winners who claimed $10,000.

The Buck Stops Here: O’s Hire Showalter As Manager.  Buck Showalter was hired to manage the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday, his latest rebuilding project in a major league career full of them.Showalter’s first game will be Tuesday night at Camden Yards against the Los Angeles Angels. Baltimore had the worst record in the majors at 31-70 going into Thursday night against Kansas City and is headed toward its 13th straight losing season. The Orioles fired manager Dave Trembley on June 4 and replaced him on an interim basis with Juan Samuel.
