Sometimes solving a crime takes years and years. Sometimes it just falls into your lap. On July 13th, Brian Carlos Plattenburg, age 28, of Glen Burnie, hid in the Safeway on Forest Drive and was able to successfully rob the store of approximately $500. He fled the store and was chased by two employees who heard a gunshot. He got away and police were unable to locate him….

Until, they got a call from Harbor Hospital five hours later advising they were treating a man for a self inflicted gunshot wound. With the help of Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County detectives, it was determined that this was indeed the Safeway robber who ended up shooting himself in the foot arm.

Just file this under stupid criminals!
