2nd Laurel Man Charged With Human Trafficking. For the second time this week, police have arrested a man in Laurel who’s accused of kidnapping a young woman and forcing her into prostitution. Anne Arundel County police said Gabriel Dreke-Hernandez, 23, of Hyattsville, was arrested at a motel in Laurel on Wednesday night.Officers found the 19-year-old woman, who told police that Dreke-Hernandez had kidnapped her from a party in Prince George’s County and forced her into prostitution. She said he assaulted and threatened her.

Crofton Man Accused Of Molesting Two Girls.  A 63-year-old Crofton man is accused of molesting two young girls. Anne Arundel County police said 63-year-old John Riva was arrested without incident Friday in Towson on a warrant issued June 3.The two girls he’s accused of molesting are ages 7 and 8. Relatives of the 7-year-old girl told police on May 28 that the child had been sexually abused by a man known to the family.

City Officer Surrenders; Victim’s Family Grieves. The city police officer accused in the shooting death of a Marine outside a bar has been charged with first-degree murder.Gahiji Tshamba is charged in the June 5 shooting of Tyrone Brown.Tshamba’s surrender Sunday morning came hours after Police Commissioner Fred Bealefeld ordered an intensified manhunt after Tshamba went missing Friday afternoon. Officers said they attempted to negotiate a peaceful surrender with Tshamba on Friday and when contact was lost with the officer, an apprehension task force was mobilized.

Teen Dies After Rescue From Inverness Park.  Baltimore County authorities said a 14-year-old who went missing at the Inverness Park boat ramp has died.The county fire department said crews responded to the boat ramp at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of the teen missing in the water at Inverton and Jasmine roads.Firefighters said the teenager died after being taking to a hospital. Baltimore County police are withholding his name until next of kin notification has been made.
