Cohen Expected To Name Mallinoff City Manager
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that sources have confirmed that Mike Mallinoff will be appointed City manager for Annapolis tomorrow afternoon when Mayor Josh Cohen holds a press conference at 2:30pm.
Mallinoff will replace Chief Administrative Officer Doug Smith whose contract was not renewed. Mallinoff is a former City Manager of Newport, RI and served as City Administrator in Annapolis under former Mayor Al Hopkins. He was hired for a one year contract by former Mayor Ellen Moyer in 2002 and never left. Unlike Smith, Mallinoff does have the credentials for the position and should be in compliance with the City’s Charter as long as the City Council approves the appointment.
The Sun also reports that Doug Smith (outgoing Chief Administrative Officer) will not be unemployed as another City position lays in wait. Is Cohen simply moving the deck chairs?

So a little birdie told me that Bob Agee was hidden away in the Transportation Department, also known as “The Land of the High-Paid Low-Visiblility Patronage Jobs.” Anyone know if there’s any truth to that?
I read it here first !!! Thanks Eye on The sinking ship!!!

From the Sun : “Phillip McGowan, a spokesman for Cohen, declined to comment Wednesday”
He makes $90K a year to say nothing ? And I read somewhere that Cohen pays two of these PIO’s. Are the people aware that we are paying for nothing ?
FYI — Mallinoff has two “L”s in his name.
Thanks for the correction. We have corrected it!
