Condo Considers Doggie DNA To Capture Pooping Culprit.  Residents at a downtown Baltimore condominium are considering a highly scientific solution to find out whose dog is pooping in the hallways and the elevators.Scarlett Place is home to about 35 dog owners, and residents said that the poop problem is becoming bad enough that people are suggesting banning all dogs.Steve Franz, a dog owner and board member at the complex, suggested the condo use DNA to solve the problem.

Al Sharpton Backs Black Entertainment District.  The Rev. Al Sharpton stopped in Baltimore to support a proposal to create a black cultural arts and entertainment district in the city.Sharpton was the guest of radio talk show host and former state Sen. Larry Young at the downtown rally.Several hundred people turned out at the War Memorial Building to voice their support for the proposed district.”If Baltimore can find a way to develop the harbor, if they can find a way to develop casinos, they can find a way to develop symbols of self respect, and self worth and self regard for the children of Baltimore city,” Sharpton said. “You made deals for the stadium, you made deals for developers. Now let’s make a deal for the children of Baltimore.”

Man Charged With Selling Destructive Devices.  Fire officials charged a Queen Anne’s County man with five counts of manufacturing and selling destructive devices.Dale Anthony Rocknak, 52, was released Monday after being charged. Officials said they have been investigating numerous reports of loud explosions in the county since January.Deputies said they purchased destructive devices from Rocknak, and a search of his home yielded components for making the destructive devices.

MD Teacher Finalist For National Top Teacher Honor.  A Harford County elementary school teacher was featured on “Live with Regis and Kelly” on Monday morning, and she has the chance to be recognized as one of the country’s top teachers.Susan Lynn is a kindergarten teacher at North Bend Elementary School in Jarrettsville. She was nominated for the program by her school’s Parent-Teacher Association president and made it onto the show with a lot of votes from supporters.
