I think he is a racist. He stated that the USNA had lowered its standards in order to let more blacks in and get the free education that is normally reserved for white underachieving Senator's kids ( McCain) and children of navy officers. He suffers from an incomplete understanding of what it means to be intelligent. He hides behind his credentials and often makes seemingly innocent yet obvious racist statements when he has a book to sell.

He appears to wear a cloak of invincibility but he has limited his students with his closed mind. Oh well.

The sweeping generalization was Hartley's comment about the professor being called a racist and saying that he was a "registered democrat" like there could never be a registered democrat who was racist. And then I suggested that David Duke was in face a registered democrat and being the grand master of the KKK there has to be an assumption that he was a racist.

Nevermind... just read a review and critique of "Annapolis Autumn" so I'll presume that the generalizations you refer to (as well as the Duke reference)were made in Fleming's book) not Hartley's article

Just curious... what were the "sweeping generalizations" made in the article, and why do you feel he's enough of a "racist" to warrant a comparison to David Duke?
