Executive To Welcome Steel Beams

Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold will be missing the Blue Angels today–but for a good reason!

He will join fire and police personnel in welcoming a truck carrying two steel beams from the World Trade Center to Anne Arundel County this afternoon at 4:00pm. The beams are scheduled to arrive around 4:00pm at the Anne Arundel County Police/Fire Headquarters at8495 Veterans Highway in Millersville.

These precious artifacts will be used to create a fitting memorial to those who lost their lives in the line of duty and a reminder to visitors that “We Shall Never Forget” the events of September 11, 2001. County Executive Leopold will also present executive citations to L.R. Wilson & Sons, the steel erector company based in Gambrills that donated the equipment and manpower to transport the beams from New York.
