Homicide Officials Investigate Infant’s Death.  Homicide investigators are looking into the death of a 6-week-old boy in Laurel.Officers responded to a report of a death in the 8100 block of Edge Rock Way at about 9 a.m. Saturday.A cause of death has not been determined.

Remains On OC Beach Identified.  Police have identified the partial skeleton that washed up on the beach in Ocean City last month as that of a Delaware man who disappeared in February. The remains have been identified as those of Greg Forte, 29, of Selbyville, Del. Forte disappeared from a friend’s home on Fenwick Island on Feb. 9, the night before a huge snowstorm. A spokesman for the Delaware State Police, which is heading the investigation, said the medical examiner’s office has not yet determined the cause and manner of death.

Howard County Athletes Required To Take Concussion Tests.  Howard County is the state’s first school system to implement mandatory concussion tests for high school athletes.The tests will be required before participation in any contact sport and after an injury starting next school year.”They give you shapes and different figures, and they’d flip them around and stuff, and you had to remember the exact shape,” said student athlete John Milani, who was knocked out during a wrestling match, suffering a concussion.School officials said the tests are easy and helpful.

Plan Aims To Boost Oyster Population In Bay.  Gov. Martin O’Malley on Friday unveiled a plan to double oyster sanctuaries in the Chesapeake Bay, saying he hopes it’ll be a start to repopulating the Chesapeake.The governor said that Maryland’s oyster population is only 1 percent of what it once was due to disease and pollution. He said huge oyster reefs used to exist that ships had to avoid and that kept bay waters clear.The new plan is being seen as the most aggressive in decades to reverse the drastic decline of oysters in the bay.
