Infant Killed In Laurel

County Homicide Detectives Investigating

From an Anne Arundel County Police report:

On May 22, 2010, at approximately 9:17 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to the 8100 block of Edge Rock Way in Laurel for a report of a death.

Upon arrival, responding officers located a deceased 6-week-old male infant inside of the residence. Officers secured the scene and detectives from the Homicide Unit were notified and immediately launched an investigation into the death of the infant. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death remain under investigation. Due to the circumstances, detectives are continuing to conduct interviews and gather information. The deceased infant will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to be performed so the final cause and manner of death can be ruled.
