Man Charged In Arnold Woman’s Sexual Assault. Anne Arundel County police arrested a Wisconsin man who they said sexually assaulted a woman in Arnold after he claimed to be selling magazine subscriptions and asked to use her bathroom.Jarvis Lamon Spain, 21, of Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree assault, perverted practice, fourth-degree sex offense and sodomy.

Panel Votes To Maintain MD Property Tax Rate. Maryland residents will pay the same state property tax rate in the coming fiscal year as they have for the past four years. The state’s three-member Board of Public Works voted unanimously Wednesday to hold the line on state property taxes. Property owners will pay 11.2 cents in state property taxes per $100 of the full assessed property value. Public utilities will pay 28 cents in state property tax per $100 of assessed value. Individual counties set their own, separate property tax rate.

Postal Worker Accused Of Stealing Hundreds Of Gift Cards. A U.S. Postal Service worker has been charged with theft after authorities said hundreds of gift cards were stolen.Andrew C. Walsh, 51, of Cockeysville, faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison for theft of mail by a postal employee.U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein and Joanne Yarbrough, of the U.S. Postal Service Office of Investigations, announced the arrest Wednesday.

NFL Suspends Ben Roethlisberger For 6 Games. Ben Roethlisberger’s off-field behavior might obscure his on-field achievements. The two-time Super Bowl winner was suspended by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday for six games without pay for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. A week after Roethlisberger avoided sexual assault charges in Georgia, Goodell also ordered the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback to undergo a “comprehensive behavioral evaluation by professionals.”
