AA Police Have Warrant For Child Abuse

On March 9, 2010, AA Police responded to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center for a report of a sick/injured male infant.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a six-week-old child was admitted to the hospital and suffering from apparent head trauma. The child was later transported via helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Washington D.C., where he remains in critical condition.

Homicide detectives began investigating and determined that the injuries were the result of child abuse and have filed charges against the child’s father, Thomas Virts, 25, of 16 Chester Circle in Glen Burnie.

At this time, there is a warrant for his arrest charging him with first degree assault, second degree assault and
child abuse. His whereabouts is unknown and detectives are seeking the public’s assistance.
