Dolphin Calf Dies At National Aquarium.  A baby dolphin born earlier this month at the National Aquarium has died. Aquarium officials said the 11-day-old Atlantic bottlenose dolphin calf died early Sunday. A necropsy was conducted to determine the cause of death. Results are expected in a week or two. Dr. Brent Whitaker, the aquarium’s deputy executive director for biological programs, said infection is the likeliest cause of death, although a genetic abnormality is also possible.

Kratovil, Bartlett Vote Against Health Care Bill. Maryland Democratic Rep. Frank Kratovil said concerns over cost led him to ultimately oppose health care reform legislation in the U.S. House.The House of Representatives voted 219-212 for the bill Sunday evening. It extends health care to tens of millions of Americans who lack it and tries to clamp down on insurance company abuses.Kratovil and Maryland’s lone Republican congressman, Roscoe Bartlett, were the only two of the state’s eight U.S. House members to oppose the bill.

Police: Two Robbed AT Gunpoint In Towson Dorm. Towson University police said two students were robbed at gunpoint when two men forced their way into their dorm room.In a campus crime alert, police said the students responded to a knock at the door of their room in Glen Tower B, a coed residence hall, at about 3:30 p.m. Monday.Police said two men forced their way inside. During the incident, one of the men suffered a minor injury to the forehead when he was struck with a metal crow bar.

Building Used On ‘Homicide” To Become Hotel. A waterfront building that stood in as a Baltimore police station on the TV series “Homicide: Life on the Street” will be transformed into a boutique hotel. City officials announced Monday that they’ve sold the historic Recreation Pier to developers for $2 million. The sale paves the way for a $35 million, 132-room Aloft hotel. The deal was delayed for several years because the building had deteriorated more than expected. Officials estimate it will cost $8.8 million to restore.
