Parent Groups Seek Officers

Calling Parents Of Students

From Anne Arundel County Schools, the county’s two most prominent educational parental advocacy and advisory groups are seeking nominations for officers.

The Anne Arundel County Council of PTAs is accepting nominations for president, first vice president, vice president for legislation, secretary, and treasurer. Nominees must be a PTA member and have attended at least one council event or training.

Officers are elected for two-year terms. The deadline for nominations is April 13, 2010. Nominations should be sent to [email protected]. Election of officers will be held on May 5.

The Anne Arundel County Public Schools Countywide Citizen Advisory Committee is accepting nominations for chairman, vice chairman, and secretary. Elected officers will serve two-year terms on the advisory committee.

Nominations will be accepted until March 25, 2010. Nominations should be sent to Kerri Barbour at [email protected], Kevin McCoy at [email protected], and Jodi Doney at [email protected]. The election of officers will take place during the CAC meeting on March 25, 2010.

Both of these groups are instrumental in providing guidance to the schools and play an important part of the success of our schools. Please, if you have the time, consider becoming involved.
