ICE Holds 27 Illegal Immigrants

29 Arrested 2 Released

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has released more details regarding yesterday’s raid at Timbuktu Restaurant. Details are slow to come out, however, we are in contact with ICE personnel and will update Eye On Annapolis accordingly. Please check back.

During the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement action yesterday in Hanover, Md, twenty-nine administrative arrests were made by agents. (28 males and 1 female) The individuals were from the following countries: Guatemala, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and Bangladesh.

Of the 29, two were released for humanitarian reasons. The remaining 27 are in ICE custody held at the Howard County Detention Center and the Carroll County Detention Center. Family members can contact the Baltimore Detention and Removal Office at (410) 637-4000.

I am sure they have had persons who are legally in this country apply for jobs at their establishment, but no they have to hire persons, that are according to the raid documents, suspected to be here illegally. Why, was it that you employed them, was it so you didn’t have to pay the associated taxes, report income,pay minimum wage or so others like myself, could pick up your and your suspected illegal employees share, to pay to put their children through school, medical care, food stamps, aid to families with dependent children, and any other welfare that can be obtained? I would really like to know your reason for your alleged actions? I know I can find persons here legally that do a good job, they are not that hard to find and they come in all shapes, sizes, colors, nationalities, ” gasp” sexual orientation, some speak perfect English, some none at all.

By the way don’t bother to call me a racist, I have a more diverse dinner table at my house than I would guess, about 95% of Maryland residents do.
