Heating Unit Fire Damages Pasadena School Gym. Investigators said a fire in a heating unit damaged the gymnasium of the Gibson Island Day School in Pasadena.The fire was reported just before 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to Anne Arundel County fire officials.No injuries were reported.The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Annapolis Mayor Details Next Steps In Snow Removal. Mayor Joshua J. Cohen said Monday that the next objective of his snow removal plan is to create space to allow for parking along snow emergency routes and residential streets, and to accommodate trash and recycling pickup.Cohen laid out the following timeline for the week:Crews will clear all Snow Emergency Routes curb-to-curb by 8 a.m. Thursday; Parking restriction along snow emergency routes will be lifted as of 8 a.m. Thursday; The free-parking period at city garages for city residents will end at 8 a.m. Thursday; Trash and recycling service will resume Thursday.

Frozen Corpse trial To Begin. The trial of a woman accused of killing her two adopted daughters and storing their bodies in a freezer is set to begin.Renee Bowman faces murder charges in the slayings of her two older daughters. She was sentenced last month in Calvert County to 25 years in prison on separate charges for the abuse of her surviving daughter.

Authorities Use ‘Valentine Delivery Service’ To Arrest 15. The Anne Arundel County sheriff’s office made 15 arrests using a fake Valentine’s Day delivery service.Deputies worked under the company name “Keystone Candigrams” to serve warrants. They contacted suspects to set up a time for a presumed gift delivery on Sunday.Instead, authorities showed up with a candy box designed with handcuffs and the scales of justice. Sheriff Ron Bateman said recipients “schedule their own arrests.”
