Baltimore, DC Break Records For Snowiest Winter.  The latest blizzard has given Baltimore a record that probably won’t be broken for a while. 11 News forecaster Tony Pann said the Tuesday-Wednesday storm, which dumped nearly 23 inches of snow on Baltimore and more than 2 feet of snow in other locations, pushed Baltimore to nearly 80 inches of snow this winter.

Roof Collapses At Smithsonian Warehouse.  Historic aircraft and spacecraft were exposed to freezing temperatures Wednesday after heavy snow collapsed part of a roof and wall at a Smithsonian Institution storage facility. No artifacts were thought to be damaged because they are all kept in boxes or protective crates, though some pieces are usually kept at stable temperature and moisture levels, officials said.

Woman Rescued After Awning Collapses Prince George’s County rescue workers have freed a woman who was trapped under an awning that collapsed under the weight of snow. It happened Wednesday at about 5 p.m. at a home in Kittering.Officials said the woman, who is in her 70s, was standing under the awning when it collapsed. She was trapped and her leg was broken. Firefighters and paramedics freed the woman, who was taken to a hospital.

Police: Man Stole Front End Loader, Plowed Driveways.  Howard County police said a Columbia man stole a front loader and used it to clear snow from driveways.The Caterpillar skid steer loader was reported stolen sometime between Friday and Monday from a parking garage on U.S. 1 and Mission Road in Jessup.Police said the vehicle equipped with LoJack was traced to a home in Laurel where it was parked in the driveway on Tuesday.The homeowners said a friend left the front loader there after clearing their driveway, and police tracked the man down.
