Senate President Rips Annapolis’ Clean Up Effort.  The President of the Maryland Senate has harsh words for snow cleanup efforts in the state’s capital. Sen. Thomas V. Mike Miller said Annapolis is “stuck in a time warp” where they believe the only snow removal method is the sun.Miller called the state of the city after the weekend’s historic storm “a disgrace” and said he worries for “the ordinary Joes” who need to get to work.”What was good in the 1700s is no longer acceptable in Annapolis,” Miller said, but adding he doesn’t fault current Mayor Josh Cohen who was elected in November.

Snowy, Icy Roads Wreaking Havoc On Cars. Mechanics and auto body shops have been busy this winter fixing cars damaged in the snow and aftermath, and there are some things you can do to keep your car from being one of them.Several feet of snow have wreaked havoc on the roads, and driving on those that aren’t quite clear — still cluttered with mounds of packed snow and ice — can be risky.

Firehouse Roof Collapses After Fire. A Baltimore County fire department lost a $600,000 engine, among other items, in an overnight fire at its firehouse.The blaze occurred early Wednesday in the 2800 block of Sollers Point Road in Dundalk.Department spokesman Kyrle Preis III said firefighters were alerted by smoke detectors and found the fire in the engine bay at about 2:30 a.m.

Hospitals See Snow-Related Injuries, Look For Help Local hospitals are starting to see snow- and ice-related injuries due to the big weekend snowstorm, and they’re trying to stay staffed as the current winter blast gets started.Many local hospitals said they are seeing a lot of broken ankles, wrists and legs as people try to get out and about in the rough weather.”I was coming out of the house this morning to go to dialysis when I slipped on the curb and wound up here with two fractures,” said Eutha Williams, who fell on the ice and was taken to Sinai Hospital.
