All State Dancers

Nine County Students Make The Grade
According to the Anne Arundel County Schools, nine students have been named All-State dancers, giving Anne Arundel County nearly one-third of the 30 dancers chosen. Dancers were selected by professional dancers and college/university dance faculty based on technique, musicality, professionalism, performance, attitude, and likelihood of future success in dance. County dancers who were selected are:
● Chelsea Brown, Broadneck High School
● Lianne Clark, Southern High School
● Shelby Conrad, Southern High School
● Brooke Dempsey, Southern High School
● Hannah Engelke, Old Mill High School
● Allison Gee, Glen Burnie High School
● Emily Hurd, Broadneck High School
● Jennifer McAllister, Severna Park High School
● Holly Olsen, Broadneck High School
AACPS also garnered five of the 12 honorable mention All-State selections. The following dancers received honorable mention recognition:
● Ashley David, Old Mill High School
● Janey Dike, Severna Park High School
● Kristin Garrett, Southern High School
● Caroline Johnson, Severna Park High School
● Laura Beth Vallandingham, Southern High School
