O’Malley Considering Sale Of BWI. Gov. Martin O’Malley said Friday that he isn’t ruling out putting BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport up for sale.He also told a technology summit he’d consider offering public shares in the airport with the goal of it being sold to a private company, even though legislators and economists described the worth of the airport as priceless.Selling the airport would be controversial and complicated, since the airport’s worth hasn’t been determined and many have debated if it’s a good deal for taxpayers.
Schools To Raise Funds For Haiti Relief. Maryland’s schoolchildren are being asked to pitch in and help support the people of Haiti following the devastating earthquake.The appeal came from state schools Superintendent Dr. Nancy Grasmick, who asked children to donate as little as one penny, but in Baltimore County, at least one schoolteacher has already gotten started.
Teacher Charged With Sex Offense Involving Student. An Anne Arundel County teacher has been charged on accusations that she had an inappropriate relationship with a student.Police charged Kristyn Nicole Breeds, 29, of Severna Park, on Thursday with three counts of fourth-degree sex offense, which is a misdemeanor.
