Right now, money is the critical thing needed to get medical supplies and basic necessities to the people on the island. We have chosen to support Doctors Without Borders for this effort and encourage our readers to do the same. If not through Doctors Without Borders, but through a legitimate organization. Unfortunately scammers come out of the woodwork when disaster strikes. Here is a list (updated frequently) of organizations that have been vetted and are participating in the relief efforts. Even if it is only $5, please give. It could have been us!

O’Malley To Skip Energy Re-Regulation This Session.  Gov. Martin O’Malley said Tuesday he won’t push for legislation to re-regulate energy markets again in this upcoming session, relying instead on the Public Service Commission to use existing authority to order new power generation as needed. Legislation backed by O’Malley to steer Maryland back toward some re-regulation of energy markets died in a House committee last session. This time, O’Malley said trying to persuade the House to go along with the proposal would “be a distraction, and I think it would delay what we need to do.”
