A Warning & A Call For Help

The Annapolis Police Department has released the following warning as well as a call for assistance.

Active Shooter Training

Beginning February 3, 2010 and continuing for 7 weeks each Wednesday, APD will be conducting an active shooter training exercise at the old Annapolis Recreation Center building at 9 St. Mary’s Street. The public should be aware that the exercise may include the sound of simulated gunfire, “victims” running from the building and the presence of police and other emergency vehicles.

Back Pack Giveaway

Last year, APD’s Community Services Section, in conjunction with Moon’s Barbershop, gave away 200 back packs filled with schools supplies to students in the Annapolis area. This year’s back pack giveaway will happen at Moon’s Barbershop in August 2010. APD is currently collecting donations of school supplies to put in the back packs. Your donation helps a local kid get a head start by providing them with the right supplies for a successful school year.

Supplies that can be donated include:

  • Back packs
  • 24 count crayons
  • #2 pencils
  • lined paper
  • spiral note books
  • 3 ring binders
  • composition books
  • scissors
  • pencil boxes
  • markers
  • glue sticks
  • erasers
  • …and more!

If you have any questions or would like to donate contact Officer Jennifer Card 410-268-9000 ext 7310 or [email protected]
