Parents Worried About H1N1 Vaccine Recall.  A massive recall involving pediatric doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine is under way.  It involves hundreds of thousands of vials that turned out to be too weak, according to health officials.This voluntary recall involves a group considered high-risk for H1N1 complications — children under 3 years of age.It comes at a time when the supply has finally freed up, worrying many parents who just got their children vaccinated.

Burglary Suspect Caught As 12-Year Old Girl Hid.  Police said two burglary suspects were caught inside a home as a 12-year-old girl was hiding from them inside.  Brandy Janette Bowman, 23, of Pasadena, and Russell Keith Edge, 26, of Glen Burnie, were taken into custody, Anne Arundel County police said Tuesday.

6 Maryland Schools Get Blue Ribbon Status. The Maryland Department of Education has named six public schools as 2010 Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence.  The schools are selected based on state and national requirements for achievement and improvement. Each school will get more than $6,000 in tech equipment and $1,000 each from corporate sponsors.

Salvation Army Needs Help With Donations. The Salvation Army is putting out the call for help.  There are only a few days left to adopt an angel and donate toys for children in need, but donations are down and slow to come in this year, the organization said.The group uses boxes to represent every needy child in the area, and it said nearly 1,000 children still haven’t been adopted.
