USNA: No Charges To Be Filed In Alleged Assault.  The Naval Academy said there’s not enough evidence to charge anyone with sexually assaulting a female midshipman in June.  The woman, a sophomore at the academy, reported being sexually assaulted while on summer training in Norfolk, Va. An Academy spokesman said in a statement that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigated the alleged incident. The commanding officer of the ship involved reviewed the findings by NCIS and concluded that there wasn’t enough evidence to charge anyone and take the case to military court.

$250K Mega Millions Ticket Sold In MD. One of six “second-tier” winning tickets in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing was bought in Maryland. The jackpot is now at $118 million after no one matched the winning numbers, which were 02-21-27-34-44. The Mega Ball was 45.There were two $10,000 tickets sold in Maryland. The locations where the winning tickets were puchased haven’t been released.

MTA Worker Charged With Stealing $400K In Fares.   Federal authorities said a Maryland Transit Administration employee has been charged with stealing $400,000 in fares from buses.  David Pattawi, 36, of White Marsh, was charged in a criminal information filed last month. Authorities said Pattawi, who worked repairing and maintaining fare boxes, stole the money between January 2007 and March 2008. Officials said Pattawi used a portable electronic key to open a fare box and get to the cash box.

Wheelchair-Bound Man Steamed To Death In Home. Police are investigating the death of a wheelchair-bound man after he died due to fire at his home. Firefighters were called to the man’s home at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Eutaw Place in West Baltimore.Officers said they found the man, later identified as 73-year-old Alexander Jones, unresponsive in his wheelchair. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Fire officials said it appeared Jones was using a stove to warm his home and had all the burners turned on. The intense heat triggered the automatic fire sprinkler, firefighters said.
