Anne Arundel Students Help Sort Toys For Tots Donations.  Students in Anne Arundel County are trying to help needy children at a time when charitable giving has been slack.  A group of Santa’s helpers showed up at county school board headquarters on Wednesday to pitch in for a cause and help sort through toys on their way to needy families as part of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots Program.

Highway Speed Cameras Now Issuing Tickets.  After six weeks of warnings, tickets are currently being sent to drivers who speed through construction and school zones.  So far, State Highway Administration officials said they’ve sent out 1,400 tickets in just a matter of a few weeks.

MD To Buy WInd, Solar Power From 4 Projects. Maryland officials said the state is signing deals to buy electricity generated by four wind and solar projects in the region.  Maryland Energy Administration Director Malcolm Woolf said Tuesday the 20-year contracts will cover 23 percent of the electricity used annually by state agencies and institutions.

Collecting the Nobel hardware and check today is a fitting cap to the greatest political marketing machine in politics. Achieving a Nobel with few if any accomplishments associated with Peace clearly shows that he is the marketing expert in Chief. What’s next? An Academy Award?

I think the President should have gracefully declined the award – so that it may be given to someone that actually did something noteworthy. If the council voted for the President – hoping that he would end the war in Iraq & turn his back on Afghanistan – they are to blame not the President. However, the President still has to sleep at night and look in the mirror – how he can compare himself with Dr. Martin Luther King, is beyond Narcissistic. DW, Annapolis
