On December 12, 2009, a 48-year-old male was shot while he was working at the Dunkin Donuts on Annapolis Road in Odenton, MD. The victim was transported to University Shock Trauma, where he was treated for his injuries.

Homicide Detectives conducted several witness interviews a suspect was identified. On December 18, 2009, at  7:00 p.m., Jared Ashur Williams, 21, of Columbia was arrested by members of the Special Enforcement Team. Additionally, the shotgun used during the crime was recovered at another location. Williams is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

“I am extremely proud of the officers who responded to the scene of this crime and the detectives who investigated this case,” Chief of Police Colonel James Teare, Sr. said. “Through their fine police work and quick actions, a dangerous individual has been apprehended.”
