Teaching kids to ride safely and understand how to handle traffic is a key skill for them. Any funding that goes into this area will bring benefit.

I would like to thank everyone who has voted to get our program some funding. As of 1230 AM on Dec 3 we are in first place. That said we still have four days of voting left, so please vote if you haven't yet and continue to spread the word. I have been trying to get an earn-a-bike program up and running for quite a few years with not much help. Now with the help of Jen Bistrack(parks and recs), Ian Bank (transportation) and all of you we can bring this program to our kids. We will be providing kids with job skills, teamwork skills, bike safety skills, and a bicycle that they can take proud of because they worked hard for it. Thank you all so much for all of your support and help. If anyone is interested in going through an adult mentor mechanic class so you can co teach and provide these kids with the guidance that they need please email me at cemedley@annapolis.gov.
