Democrat Leads In Annapolis Mayoral Election.  Democrat Josh Cohen has taken the lead in the race for mayor of Annapolis in unofficial results. According to results posted on the city’s Web site Tuesday night, Cohen, a county councilman, had 3,729 votes, with 16 of 16 precincts reporting.Republican Alderman David Cordle had 3,494 votes and independent Chris Fox, a local bar owner, had 1,056 votes.

Man Throwing Rocks At Drivers Shot By Trooper. A man throwing large rocks at passing cars, and later at troopers who confronted him on Rt. 40 in Cecil County, is hospitalized in stable condition after he was shot by a state trooper during the confrontation.Maryland State Police said Clyde S. Patterson III, 50, of Perry Point, is being treated at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Baltimore Co. Schools Seeing Increase In Enrollment. Baltimore County schools are reporting the first student population increase in almost five years.The district has spent years watching the numbers go down. In 2005, there were more than 107,000 students on the rolls in Baltimore County, but the numbers fell by more than 3,500.
