Baltimore County Officials Say No To Raises. It looks like proposed raises for Baltimore County officials will be dead on arrival, even if they get to the county executive’s desk. Jim Smith indicated on the county website that he won’t approve the recommendations from the salary board.Smith said he doesn’t think this is the time for raises.

Body Positively Identified After Washing Ashore In Mayo.  Maryland Natural Resources Police said a body that washed ashore from the Chesapeake Bay has been identified as a missing kayaker. Authorities used fingerprint analysis to determine the body found Friday at Beverly-Tirton Beach Park in Mayo was Jerard Welsh. He was last seen Nov. 3 kayaking in Oyster Creek by another boater. The boater returned a few hours later and found an empty kayak and life jacket.

Former Raven Died Of Overdose. Toxicology results have been released in the death of former Raven Tony Fein. The report said that Fein died of an overdose of morphine. Officials have ruled his death accidental. Fein was found unconscious and barely breathing in early October after collapsing at a friend’s home in the state of Washington. He later died at a hospital.

MD Soldier Dies In Afghanistan Attack. A local Special Forces soldier is dead after seeing combat in Afghanistan. Department of Defense agents said Staff Sgt. Matthew Pucino, 34, of Cockeysville, died on Tuesday in Pashav Kala, Afghanistan.
