ATM Skimmer Discovered At Bank Of America In Bel Air. Police in Bel Air said a device that steals personal information from ATM cards was discovered on a machine at a Bank of America branch on Main Street. Authorities said they believe that type of crime is rare in Bel Air but are concerned because the scheme was so sophisticated that people didn’t realize they were victims until it was too late.

Driver Wounded In Officer Involved Shooting. Anne Arundel County police are investigating an officer-involved shooting. Investigators said that an officer patrolling along Route 4 noticed a driver commit a traffic violation, and that the officer attempted to stop the driver.According to the police report, the driver took off and stopped just inside the Prince George’s County line.When the officer approached the vehicle, a fight ensued that resulted in the officer being injured and the driver suffering a gun shot wound, police said.

O’Malley To Get Award From Governing Magazine. Gov. Martin O’Malley is among eight officials who will be named public officials of the year by a state and local government magazine. The magazine is called Governing, and it will hold a dinner in November in Washington for the officials who are being recognized.

PSC Sets New Hearing Date In Constellation Merger. The Public Service Commission has set aside two more days for hearings into a proposed merger between Constellation Energy Group and France’s EdF. A hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 14, with the next day set aside if needed. Maryland’s attorney general asked for more hearings last month after criticizing Constellation for waiting until the close of evidentiary hearings before disclosing final terms of the transaction.
