Trial Begins For Man Accused In Child’s Burning. Opening statements began Tuesday in the trial of a Howard County man accused of intentionally burning his 2-year-old niece.

BWI Sees Passenger Increase Despite Economy. Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport has continued to attract travelers despite a bad economy.While other airports in the region have seen declines, the number of passengers using BWI increased year-over-year during four of the past six months.

Group Files Campaign Complaint Against Developer. A watchdog group has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against a Maryland developer. The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington complaint is against Edward St. John and six of his employees. The complaint asks the FEC to investigate more than $60,000 in contributions to the Maryland Republican State Central Committee and the 2006 U.S. Senate campaign of Michael Steele, now the Republican National Committee chairman.

Man Charged In Two Early-1980s Rapes. Baltimore County police said Tuesday that a 58-year-old man has now been charged in two rapes that occurred in the early 1980s.Investigators said Herman Bolling is charged with two counts each of first-degree rape, attempted first-degree murder and first-degree burglary.
