Local Publishing Firm Makes Generous Donation

At a ceremony in the Arundel Center in Annapolis on Sept. 24, the Friends of Arundel Seniors Inc. receive a donation of $12,043 from What’s Up? Publishing Group Inc. The donation came from a portion of the proceeds from advertising in the “Services for Seniors, Adults with Disabilities and Caregivers” directory for 2009-2010 published in May 2009.

The annual directory is produced in a partnership by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities with the Anne Arundel Senior Services Provider Group Inc. and What’s Up? Publishing Group. It includes information on the more than two dozen programs offered by the department as well as listings of services provided by the members of the SPG. It is free and available at the department, 2666 Riva Road, fourth floor, Annapolis, and at county libraries and Giant Food stores.

The Friends of Arundel Seniors Inc. is a non-profit organization of volunteers that provide safety equipment for senior citizens and adults with disabilities in their homes such as grab bars and other items in bathrooms as well as house numbers to aid the fire department in locating a residence.
