Officer Shot During Robbery Attempt. A Baltimore city police officer is hospitalized after he was shot late Thursday night during a robbery attempt.

Police Search For Missing 14-Year Old. Baltimore County police are looking for help in locating a 14-year-old girl who disappeared from her home in the 8200 block of Jeffers Circle in Towson.Police said Monica Louise Muth has been missing since Monday at about 4:30 p.m.

Hopkins Adds Jobs With $114M In Federal Money. Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore’s largest employer, just got the green light to hire more people after receiving $114 million in federal stimulus money.The grants come as Maryland’s unemployment rate is at 7.2 percent, and state officials said things are slowly getting better.

If you’re looking to buy a house in foreclosure but aren’t sure what’s on the market, a local Realtor has come up with a unique way to get customers to the product. A foreclosure bus tour to be held Saturday morning in Howard County is giving prospective buyers a chance to see multiple homes to find good deals. Realtor Bob Lucido, who is hosting the event, said there’s never been a better time to buy a home, and because of the economy, the volume of foreclosed properties is high.

County Schools Cautious About Seasonal Flu. The seasonal flu has started to spread early this year, especially among students in Baltimore County, and some schools’ attendance has taken a big hit. County school officials have been trying to keep track of the growing number of students sent home sick from the flu.

Pasadena Man Arrested On Child Porn Charges. Maryland State Police arrested a 30-year-old Pasadena man on child pornography charges. Kevin Ferguson was arrested Thursday on charges of distributing and possessing child pornography. He surrendered to a state police investigator in the computer crimes unit and was released without bond. Police said a state trooper found Ferguson’s computer on a peer-to-peer network sharing pornographic videos of children that could be downloaded.
