ACORN Sues Filmmakers, IRS Severs Ties With Group. ACORN has filed a lawsuit against the makers of a hidden-camera video that showed employees of its Baltimore office giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman posing as a prostitute. The liberal activist group contends that the audio portion of the video was obtained illegally because Maryland requires two-party consent to create sound recordings.

Woman Charged With Kidnapping On Bus. Anne Arundel County police arrested a Jessup woman and charged her with kidnapping.The incident happened Tuesday afternoon near a school bus stop on Clark Road.Police said a woman and her 4-year-old son were waiting on the bus when 50-year-old Leslie Offut picked up the child and tried to walk away.

Bank Begins Foreclosure On First Mariner Tower. A French bank has begun foreclosure proceedings on 1st Mariner Tower at Canton Crossing.Paris-based Natixis SA told banker and developer Edwin F. Hale Sr. on Friday that an auction for the building and surrounding land is scheduled for Oct. 21 after a default on an $84 million loan, according to a notice of sale.
