Attempted Sexual Assault In Odenton

On September 10, 2009, at approximately 6:43 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie for a report of a sexual assault that occurred earlier in the 300 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue in Odenton.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 19-year-old female victim, who advised that she was walking to her bus stop when she was approached from behind by a male subject. The suspect grabbed her and dragged her into his yard, where he attempted to sexually assault her. During the assault, the suspect attempted to rip off the victim’s shirt. She resisted and the suspect subsequently struck her in the head with a blunt object. The victim then fled the area on foot and returned to her residence. The victim sustained trauma to her head and was taken by ambulance to BWMC. Numerous officers canvassed the area near the assault and a suspect was identified. The suspect, Jameson Bryan Knott, 19, of 356 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Odenton, Maryland, was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Rape, Attempted First Degree Sex Offense, 4th Degree Sex Offense, First Degree Assault, False Imprisonment and Kidnapping.
