A message from Josh Cohen:

September 23, 2009

I respect Zina Pierre’s decision to decline the Democratic nomination for Mayor of Annapolis.  This must be an incredibly difficult time for her personally and I wish her all the best.

The law requires that the decision as to who will now appear on the General Election ballot as the Democratic nominee rests with the Annapolis Democratic Central Committee.  I hope and trust that the Central Committee will fulfill this obligation with an open, public, and transparent process.  Out of respect for that process I will have no further comment at this time.
