More Details Emerge On Double Murder

Annapolis Police have released more details regarding the double murder on June 30, 2009 in the Admiral Heights neighborhood. The victims have been identified.  From a release from the Annapolis Police Dpeartment:

On Wednesday, July 1, 2009, patrol units responded to 11 Goodrich Road in the Admiral Heights area in reference to a reported shooting.

Officers checking the residence found Lei Tyree Johnson (DOB 07/16/70) of 11 Goodrich Road and Samuel Marshall Fowlkes (DOB 11/12/59) of 177 Obery Court deceased in a bedroom in the home. A juvenile who lived in the home was also assaulted during the incident.

The Annapolis Police Department’s Investigation identified Elbert Gardner, Jr. (DOB 07/29/52) as a possible suspect. Gardner lived in a basement apartment at 11 Goodrich Road.

Detectives, through their investigation, arrested and charged Gardner with 2 counts of 2nd Degree Murder and 1 count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
